Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has admitted that her character Tina McIntyre feels “so guilty” after lashing out at pregnant Kirsty Soames in an upcoming episode.

As revealed yesterday, Kirsty will give birth at the Rovers Return next month after her waters break following a furious argument with Tina.

Although mother and baby are both fine, Tina’s treatment of Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) does not go down well among the local residents.

Keegan told Soaplife: “Tina just loses it. [The argument] escalates into a bit of a scuffle, and Kirsty falls back into one of the tables.

“Tina feels incredibly guilty. Marcus has to deliver Kirsty’s baby in the pub. It’s not what Tina would have wished on anyone. Tommy really wants to be loyal to Tina, but even he tells her it was a stupid thing to do. It happens in a busy pub with everyone watching, and Tina and Tommy become public enemy number one.”

Confirming that the latest problems will put a strain on Tina and Tommy’s relationship, the actress continued: “They’re desperately trying to keep a united front, but the cracks are starting to show. It seems something goes wrong for them every day, and they simply don’t have the chance to be a normal couple.”

Earlier this week, reports revealed that Tina will offer to become a surrogate mother for Izzy Armstrong and Gary Windass in a bid to solve her own financial problems.

Teasing the story for the first time, Keegan commented: “Tina saw her father Joe suffer badly because of his financial woes. She’s in a desperate situation, and you really don’t know what you’d do until you found yourself in that situation.”

Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede has revealed details of Kirsty Soames’s dramatic labour scenes.

Kirsty will give birth at the Rovers Return next month in the aftermath of another huge argument with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).

The scenes see Tina lose her temper upon hearing that she could be left homeless, as a scheming Kirsty has informed house-hunter Julie Carp that Jason Grimshaw is selling his flat.

Gumede told All About Soap: “Tina just goes mad and Kirsty continues to goad her, while playing innocent to the rest of the pub.

“Tina grabs Kirsty and there’s a scuffle – it’s not a proper fight, but Kirsty falls back on to a table. Tina just wants to make Kirsty listen, because she keeps walking away from her and laughing.”

Just after the row has turned physical, both women get more than they had bargained for as Kirsty’s baby is suddenly on the way.

Gumede continued: “It becomes apparent immediately that the baby is coming – the pain is acute and her waters break. Marcus is there and, as a midwife, he’s able to recognise that this tot is going to come pretty quickly.

“Kirsty’s a very strong character and she’s a tough cookie, while Marcus is great. Tyrone turns up as well, which helps immensely.”

After welcoming their daughter Ruby at the pub, Kirsty and Tyrone are taken to hospital with the newborn – and are relieved to hear that mum and baby will both be fine.

However, Tina is left feeling more outcast than ever as the Weatherfield residents are not taking her side in the long-running feud.

Gumede said: “Tina’s painted as the bad guy – from the outside, it looks like she’s attacked a pregnant lady. But Kirsty won’t be happy until she knows where Tyrone is every minute of the day.”

Coronation Street airs Kirsty’s labour scenes on Sunday, September 9 on ITV1.

CORRIE sexpot Tina McIntyre will be at the centre of a baby drama when she agrees to act as a surrogate mum.

The news comes as a major bombshell to her boyfriend Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain, 24).

Fans will know that disabled Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston, 36) had turned to her sister Katy (Georgia May Foote, 21) to help her live her dream of being a mum.

But in the next few weeks Izzy and Katy’s dad Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies, 53) puts a stop to their plan.

However he understands Izzy’s plight so offers Tina (Michelle Keegan, 25) a stash of cash to have the baby for her.

The lass signs up to the emotional plan because she and Tommy are in so much debt. In heartbreaking scenes, Tommy will try and convince Tina to back out.

He tells her: “I can’t do this for nine months. All I just want is it to be me and you.”

But Tina hits back: “You know that they need us as much as we need them.

“If you want to wipe the slate clean and have the kind of life we want to have, then this has to work.

“We’ve got to go to that clinic and keep everything crossed that this works.”

A show source said: “It’s a massive deal for everyone involved.”

Jack P Shepherd has claimed that he made his Coronation Street co-star Michelle Keegan wet herself on set.

The actor was asked by Heat magazine if he had ever wet himself as an adult.

“No, but I did make Michelle Keegan p*ss herself,” he said.

“We were doing a scene in the kebab shop and she laughed so much it wasn’t just a bit of a wee – she had to go and change her jeans, knickers, socks and trainers, the lot.”

Asked how he rated himself on looks between one and ten, Shepherd said: “About a five. My rat features bring me down.

“I’ve got a stupid little rat face and a pig nose and bent fingers. Actually, I’m not even a five, I’m more of a three. Yeah, I’ve got rabbit teeth too.”
