Michelle Admits She Was ‘Lucky’ To Bag Coronation Street Role: ‘I Was In The Right Place At The Right Time’ « Michelle Keegan Daily — www.michellekeegan.net

The actress, who recently split from The Wanted boyfriend Max George, appeared on ITV1‘s Lorraine this morning yesterday (September 6) and couldn’t have looked happier as she chatted to the bubbly talkshow host.

And it seems that the role of pretty barmaid Tina McIntyre came relatively easy to her, as she said: “I’ve had that many jobs, believe me Lorraine. I always wanted to be an actress but I thought you had to start at a young age and I didn’t know how.”

“I started acting at 19, and was just really lucky. It was a case of right place, right time.”

She then added, “I’m still starstruck by most of them, as well. It’s really weird because I grew up watching Corrie and I still have to pinch myself that I’m actually still there.”

After winning Sexiest Female accolades at soap awards for the past four consecutive years, Michelle explained she was thrilled to have been nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming TV Choice Awards because she finally feels as though she has been ‘accepted’ in the industry… even though she’ll probably still end up in that ‘sexiest female’ category yet again.

She said: “I didn’t expect it at all because I came in as a new actress, Corrie’s my first job. So in a way I feel like I’ve been accepted – that I’ve been nominated for an acting award. So I’m really chuffed.”

It seems that Michelle is coping pretty well with her recent split from The Wanted’s Max, saying: “You cope with all the attention wonderfully but maybe next time you do get a lovely relationship, it will be someone out of the public eye so you get less attention.”

The actress then paid social networking site Twitter a quick visit after the show and couldn’t be happier with the response she’d got about the interview.

The brunette tweeted, “Thankyou for all your lovely comments about @ITVLorraine I could of sat there n talked all day! Hahaha! 🙂 xx.”

And we would’ve been more than happy to have sat and listened to you all day, Mich!
